How we publish.

What AI writes here

Most new items on this site are drafted by AI. Every item carries a label that says how it was made, next to its byline.

Automated news. An AI model drafts each automated news story from two linked official sources: the announcement itself and a second official page for context. The story is published without a person reading it first, and its label says so: drafted automatically by AI from the two linked official sources, automatically checked, not reviewed by a person before publication.

Mara’s take. Automated stories can include a short, visibly labelled box of opinion from Mara Vale, our fictional presenter. It is character commentary. It may not add facts that the sources do not contain.

Daily fiction. The daily fictional dispatches are written by AI under this site’s fiction rules, and their label says so: written by AI under After Hours Dispatch’s fiction rules, not reviewed by a person before publication. They invent their incidents and characters, are labelled as original fan fiction, and are not game canon. Mara Vale is a character in them, not their writer.

Earlier items. The first news reports, the GTA+ explainer and the four launch episodes were prepared one at a time and reviewed before publication. Their label says that, and the news reports among them keep their “AHD editorial” label.

None of these labels comes from the text of a story. The site chooses each one from the way the item was published, so an automated story can never carry a label meant for a reviewed one.

The automatic checks

Before an automated story is published, it is automatically checked against the two linked sources. Every claim the story uses, in its body, in Mara’s take and in the section on what it means for players, must be supported by those sources, and the headline must be grounded in them. If any claim is unsupported or left out of the check, the story is held and not published. Simple rules also reject numbers, dates, prices or names that do not appear in the sources, and hold stories that repeat earlier wording too closely.

An automatic check is not the same as a person verifying a story. It can miss an error, and the sources themselves can change. For anything that matters to you, use the linked original sources.

What “curated” means

The site’s owner reads automated items one at a time, alongside their sources and the result of the automatic check, and can then mark an item “Curated”. There is no bulk approval. Each decision is recorded with its time and a fingerprint of the exact text that was read.

Only curated items are offered to search engines. Until an item is curated it is still readable on the site and listed in the feeds with its labels, but it asks search engines not to index it and is left out of the sitemap. A curated item shows “Reviewed by the editor” with the date. If the item is later corrected, the curation no longer matches the text and the item returns to uncurated until it is read again.

The owner’s responsibility

Automation does not move responsibility away from the people who run the site. The owner is responsible for everything published here, automated or not. That includes reading correction, privacy and legal messages, correcting or unpublishing items, pausing the automated news or fiction when something goes wrong, and handling copyright notices within the time the takedown procedure sets out.

Sources and dates

We use primary publisher announcements, explain what they mean for players, and link the original sources. Source announcement dates describe the original publisher’s work. Our publication and revision dates describe ours. We preserve date precision, omit unknown first-publication dates, and mark expired offers as archive coverage. A late source update does not make an old announcement new.

The separate source wire

The auto-wire collects source titles, dates and original links. These automatic updates are separate from our stories. Independent creators’ interpretations, questions and predictions remain commentary; they do not become publisher confirmation. A speculative title is not evidence of an announced feature.

Images and source credit

Fiction uses original story illustrations with descriptive alternative text and visible credits. AI-generated illustrations carry that label and are never presented as game screenshots or images of factual events. New fiction illustrations are labelled “AI-generated illustration · fiction” and never appear on news pages.

A daily episode may carry its own AI-generated illustration of Mara Vale. It is drawn automatically from a short fixed list of scenes, props and poses chosen to match the episode, never from the story text, and it must pass automatic safety, format and cost checks first. Any lettering in such a picture is a meaningless AI drawing artefact, not real text.

Licensed news source images require exact article relevance and a verified reuse basis. Public availability is not a licence. Credits, original source and licence links accompany approved images. Where permission is unresolved, the story links to the official source without reproducing its artwork.

Selected publisher announcement artwork may instead appear only within its matching report under a documented editorial-use assessment. It retains its full frame and notices, publisher credit and original source link. This assessed use is separate from a licence or written publisher permission, and does not authorize decorative, social-preview or future reuse.

Official source images on automated stories

An automated news story may show the official image from its own main source page: the picture that page names as its share image, such as a Rockstar Newswire article’s announcement artwork. The image must come from the publisher’s official image server and belong to that article. We keep an exact copy, show it on that story’s page only, credit the publisher and link to the original page. It never appears on story cards, in feeds, in search data or in social previews.

Each such use has its own recorded editorial-use assessment for news reporting, made under the owner’s authorisation of 10 October 2026. That assessment is not a licence or publisher permission, and public availability does not grant reuse rights. If an image is challenged, we hide it through the takedown procedure and the story keeps its text.

Where the official page has no suitable image, a story may instead carry an AI illustration of our fictional presenter made for that story from a short fixed list of scenes, labelled “AI illustration · not a real event or gameplay”. Otherwise it shows its plain text card, labelled “Text card, not game imagery”. We never use a generic or unrelated picture in place of either.

Editorial illustrations

Some news briefs may carry an original conceptual illustration commissioned for that topic. These images are visibly labelled “AI-generated editorial illustration” and “Not gameplay or evidence.” They are not publisher artwork, game screenshots, photographs or reconstructions of actual events. The illustration describes a theme; the linked source supports the news. If appropriate approved artwork is unavailable, a brief remains image-free.

Editorial illustrations are prepared and reviewed when an editor is available. Image availability does not imply a continuously staffed art desk.

Source videos are additional media with publisher or creator credit and an original watch link. Playback must be checked before a player is enabled; unchecked or restricted videos remain links. An enabled player loads YouTube only after an explicit click and does not autoplay. YouTube may set cookies after it loads.

Coverage and availability

We do not promise every publisher update or every creator video. The service snapshot gives a small availability summary and the last stored publisher refresh. Existing stories remain readable when a source is temporarily unavailable.

Corrections

We correct substantive factual errors with a visible note and an updated time. Source changes do not silently rewrite our analysis. To report an error, use the contact page; the corrections page lists every published correction.
